ISO 9001 meaning is: it is a standard for maintaining quality in your management or in your company. It is an international standard and published by ISO. If you follow and implement the guidelines of this standard then you can achieve certificate on this standard. Certificate is issued by certification body like IQS.

ISO 9001 is a standard from International Organization for Standardization located in Geneva, Switzerland. It was first published in 1987. Later it has been reviewed several times. Now the fifth version of iso 9001 is known as ISO 9001:2015. Until now it is latest version of 9001. The first version was ISO 9001:1987. It is known as qaulity management system standard. Organizations use the standard to demonstrate the ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements. It is most popular ISO standard among others. Adopter of this standard is the highest position comparing with other iso standards.

• Make contract with certification body like AAS
• Take training
• Make ISO documents
• Do Internal Audit
• Take CA plan (if any)
• Participate in Certification Body(CB)  audit.
• Receive ISO Certificate

Any kind and any size of organization can adopt ISO 9001 certification for their organization. Basically two reasons are there for adopting ISO 9001 certification:

• Developing inaternal management quality
• Meeting Customers requireements

Time duration depends on company radius including company documentation status, scope, number of sites, processes etc. However, for a new company who has nothing on ISO 9001 then it may take 30-60 days to get certified.

ISO 9001 Certified means a company has made contract with a certification body to verify its quality in his management system. It is practising quality in the processes of the company. It never means it is 100% quality complaint company.

Actually no company can claim that he is fully qualified for receive ISO Certifiation without proper training and documentation. So, to be iso 9001 certified you  msut have all the mandatory and required documents and mandatory records to get certiificate for ISO 9001 standard. If you have qualified staff then you can prepare them by yourself otherwise you can hire an iso consultant to do that.
